Following an internal model making session at lunch it was suggested we use a reciprocal frame as the basis for a bench for the London Festival of Architecture.
We were lucky to have 6 of us involved so were able to spread the work between us and volunteered to do make the illustrations.

The design uses three beams resting on each other with only supports at the perimeter. It allows the design to have some large spans and keep the central space unobstructed.

The arrangement also creates different spaces for interaction; a central gathering space, corners for people to talk or single person seats.
